This was a freshman year project in which we had to create the idea of a product made out of insects for the fictional corporation, "Insecta International." My idea was to have rat killer nuggets that are made out of the deadly Blister Beetle. The brand slogan that I came up with is "Don't let rats bug you. Bug them back."
Our first design task was to create a brand mark (logo) for the product, and later create a physical package in which the product would, in theory, be contained and sold. We had to make sure that the package would be able to hold the product, advance the brand identity, and act as a sort of silent salesperson (meaning that the package should look good enough to gain people's interest and ultimately be part of the reason that people end up buying the product).
Let's get started.
Firstly for the package design, some heavy research on safety info was done. This was an extra step that wasn't required by the project's guidelines, but one that is necessary if we are simulating a real-world scenario - I was going for something true to the real world, not theoretical. There was a lot of info to put on the box, which was a challenge. Some things had to be slightly summarized.
